Renewal
-
I'm pretty sure that this Renewal will be heavily customized under the MOTR mechanics, so there's no reason to panic.
-
_< how about some dots or commas?
Maybe he is using some kind of automatic translator... -
Still, renewal scares me too..
-
Ok... still. Does anyone know WHAT would be customized? Or at least ideas they are throwing around?
-
Potion OD, there was open testing session about two or three weeks ago.
It's easier to say what's NOT going to be customized in comparison to original Renewal. The best answer to your question is something like "everything". -
As I understood MOTR will be more like jRo renewal than iRo renewal, maybe you can check that out for more information and correct me if i'm wrong about that statement.
-
InuTaisho, our comrade have visited jRO. I don't have much information, but it seems mechanics is a lot more kRO-ish than previously expected.
jRO looks like a normal Renewal with very tough experience charts. Well yes, we had the same experience charts on the test serverI'm waiting for a news from jRO investigation, but it must be tough for "tester" Starting from the blank at jRO server seems even more difficult than here.

Loneliness, the harder the better I hope really that Admins take away the easy way lvling from Renewal and put a real challange for the players Don't wanna see lvl 150 players after a week already or even a month, and since the 3rd classes are so powerfull already, so why not make it half impossible to get experience for them! That would sure be fun But i'm maybe the only one who thinks that, haha
-
InuTaisho, personally I dislike the idea of "challenging players" that way. "Good game is no life" is somehow... not really a good concept for a MMORPG.
You see...
half impossible to get experience for them
The exp charts are almost linear after the level of 100. Having level 110 after a month of playing you'll have level 120 the next month, and so on. That's not about a "year to get 96 and another year to get 99".But there's a reasonable theory that despite the enormous exp required level-upping will not be that hard actually. So I don't panic
-
Oh right. The other thing about renewal was that the mob xp sucks. Sure, you say the xp curve is more linear, but it doesn't matter when harder mobs barely give more xp and with each level, you're gaining less and less.
It's still a proven fact: it's not that much "easier" to level in renewal. But the big difference is it's that much more boring to level. You're forced to kill mobs of weaker monsters over and over and over for the best xp. I hope you guys have something in store to fix THAT too.
Well, in particular, all you'd probably have to do is scale up the xp per monster difficulty more appropriately. And by NO MEANS have a stupid monster level cap where if you fight a monster too high level you get reduced xp. That is just.. the stupidest thing ever.

Renewal was made to improve the game experience. It should be avoided, that someone is sitting from lvl 60 to 99 at sleepers for example. That's why this special exp system was introduced. People will have to look after more effective places to level. You will have to discover the world of ragnarok and not just sit at one place. This will make the game more attractive for beginners, cause not everyone is attracted by those hardcore grinding like it's at this moment. Additionally, 3rd classes will make a lot of fun and bring new experiences to WoE. All in all, Renewal can wait until my prof is 99 xD but in general, I can't wait until it hits motr.

So I see renewal is out....
there are monsters that hit me for 1 damage. They're really weak. But I have % damage reduction from a racial card. Shouldn't it be reduced to below 1, then be 0 and miss?
