In the third WoW expansion we're planning on introducing Azerothians to a few aspects of SC2, starting with several quests linking Zergs to the Ahn'Qiraj invasion, but it won't happen until the fourth WoW expansion that Azerothians will be able to engage in combat with the StarCraft Universe (StarCraft 2 expansion, bought separately) armies or fight along their side, using a brand new engine shared by most battle.net games years in the making.
After first releasing the news to a Blizzard alpha-testing community the information was leaked and we've received hundreds of letters, almost all of which mentioned the same question - will Diablo 3 have any connection with the Blizzard universe? The answer is yes. Just remember that it won't happen for at least another 6 years and all the lore related problems will be solved through regular updates of each game, adding new, uniting content when appropriate.
The new engine and graphics are what we're looking forward to the most, unfortunately for some of you - the future battle.net games will require that you upgrade to the new generation of graphic cards, the NVIDIA Quadro
series. Though if you're using the same old graphics card in 6 years - know that we feel very, very sorry for you and hope your financial situation gets better. 
Quadro won't cost that much by then.
Yes, this does mean that World of Warcraft will have completely new graphics, but pre-100 content will, most likely, not be remodeled and the transition from the old to the new content will be as simple as a game restart, without having to turn off the game client.
