Can't start game (understand RUS)

Hello, I just downloaded and installed MOTR, but am having trouble with getting into the game. I've gotten a notice stating that
*I've failed to connect to Main Server
*Failed to open internet URL, please check your connection. (Internet is fine, connection to server is not, how, why?)
*Couldn't connect to HTTP patch-server 0.
I hope you can help me with this. I must state I'm not really savvy in these kinds of fields, like installing and placing games properly so it might be possible I've made a pretty useless move on the go.
The file has been unpacked in a folder on my desktop. I have not tried to start any files other than motr.exe

I understand russian and have no problem reading the language, my keyboard simply doesn't have the right keys so PLEASE don't back away

you can try to un-check Auto-update checkbox in Settings
