But what Alterschwede was saying is, when you run updater, you can choose settings to modify your RO settings. In the bottom right corner of that window is "Russian chat encoding". I was having this same problem until I checked that box.

So I see renewal is out....

there are monsters that hit me for 1 damage. They're really weak. But I have % damage reduction from a racial card. Shouldn't it be reduced to below 1, then be 0 and miss?

Oh right. The other thing about renewal was that the mob xp sucks. Sure, you say the xp curve is more linear, but it doesn't matter when harder mobs barely give more xp and with each level, you're gaining less and less.

It's still a proven fact: it's not that much "easier" to level in renewal. But the big difference is it's that much more boring to level. You're forced to kill mobs of weaker monsters over and over and over for the best xp. I hope you guys have something in store to fix THAT too.

Well, in particular, all you'd probably have to do is scale up the xp per monster difficulty more appropriately. And by NO MEANS have a stupid monster level cap where if you fight a monster too high level you get reduced xp. That is just.. the stupidest thing ever.

Ok... still. Does anyone know WHAT would be customized? Or at least ideas they are throwing around?

I hear renewal is coming to MOTR sometime in the future... I just think this is a huge mistake. First of all, if you've ever played it on any official server, you will find it's a completely different game. And for the most part, it is crap. What good reason could we possibly have to upgrade?

The veteran players who have god gear and a slew of lv 99/70 chars... you feel sorry for them cause they have nothing to do but WoE? Well, in a month's time with renewal, they'll have all hit lv 150 and be in the same spot again.

Do you think renewal will fix balance between trans classes? If you thought things were bad now, wait till you meet all the plethora of skills that make your chars stand there doing nothing or virtually useless. Wait till practically every other class can mob faster and more efficiently than the original mobbing class. :evil:

At least I also heard that many customizations are going to be made to renewal? Could I just ask.. what are they? I am very interested to know... it could even change my mind. But it's practically a lost cause. Much of the way stats work is now watered down, def and other mechanics changes are just stupid, and it would be difficult to give each class the skills which ACTUALLY seem to belong to them, then balance them.

At the very least, could there just be a separate renewal server? Copy all current items and characters over to it for all I care, just don't touch the original. :evil:

oh, one other thing. the 3rd class sprites are ugly as :evil:

Well, it seems to me Nuitari has been dead quite a while. Everyone had various reasons for going inactive, even if it was only due to lack of interest or because others went inactive...

Do you still have plans for this sort of thing?

So, what... was the mob training rule removed just because it was redundant? If people are gathering enough monsters to cause such an inconvenience, that would count as the excessive mob training. But now with the rule removed, it seems to send a message to players that they can go crazy with mobbing, even though basically... they never should have changed their behavior?

You may as well have just left in the rule to be crystal clear. :unknown:
